Jelly Bean Baby Dills (with parent participation) (Ages 2-3)-15:1 Jelly Bean Beanies (Ages 2-5), Jelly Bean Sportsters (Ages 6-8), Jelly Bean Hoopsters (Ages 7-11)-12:1
Classes are coed, the mix of children is based on registration. If you have five or more children, we can create a class for you depending on space availability.
Baby Dills are classes for 2 and 3 year olds that are parent-tot introductory sports classes. Parent participation is required. Beanies are classes for 4 and 6 year olds that are intermediate classes without parent assistance. Baby Dills and Beanies practice structures are very similar making for an easy transition as children grow. Beanies will begin taking better direction therefore making more advanced instruction possible. Small-sided, non-competitive games are introduced at the Beanies level.
Beanies are classes for 4 to 6 year olds that are intermediate in nature. Coaches are still very much focused on working with Beanies developing their listening, communication, critical thinking, motor skills, sports skills and passion for the game. Sportsters are classes for 6 to 8 year olds that are advanced in nature. An option to remain or progress to the next level is provided to 6 year olds. A higher skill-level, player sizes differ and the degrees of player intensity vary. This is what you can expect. Deeper instruction is always possible in either class based on an instructor’s assessment of each class’ strengths and weaknesses.
We offer 4 sessions a year, so quarterly that breaks down to approximately 12 week cycles. Inside of each quarter there are two 6 week sessions.
It is not necessary to change classes mid-session due to age. However, if your child is ready physically and emotionally the option of moving up should be considered for the next available session.
Possibly, each circumstance is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. The developmental needs of the player extend far beyond sports skills. We will evaluate their readiness and determine if it is, indeed, appropriate for them physically, mentally and emotionally.
Jelly Bean programs are coed, however, if you have five or more girls, we can create an all girls class depending on space availability.
We do offer and create private classes for groups that want to bring in 5 or more participants.
No, all registrations are first come, first serve.

Are they all licensed from some organization? All Jelly Bean Sports instructors are carefully screened to ensure we provide quality, child-centered and high energy instruction. Instructors go through a rigorous training process which includes, among other things, child development theory and background checks. Instructors may or may not be licensed.
Beannie classes are very age-appropriate. They focus on building vital fundamental skills such as balance and coordination. A variety of sensory activities such as bubbles, parachutes, noodles and cone towers are presented in a sequence that promotes skill development and cognitive mapping. Older children often act as leaders to the younger children helping them in their understanding.
While many sports programs are busy using adult-like skill drills to hammer home the fundamentals of the game, we approach coaching from a child-centered perspective. In other words, we make learning fun for kids. We put instruction into a context children understand using special techniques designed around how kids naturally learn. Jelly Bean classes teach your child the fundamentals, but focus on developing the whole child. Our program helps develop a child's social, emotional, and cognitive skills while exercising the child's body and creating players who are well-balanced and conscientious on and off the field.
Advancing to the next class really depends on the child and how they are doing in the class. Sports at this level are much more about overall growth and the experience than just physical capabilities. Prior to moving a child, we consider not just their physical needs, but also their emotional and cognitive needs. This helps create a successful learning environment and creates a balanced player. Your child's instructor can help evaluate which class is most appropriate for his or her needs.
Jelly Bean classes are an excellent outlet for children with special needs. We welcome them in our program as long as we are equipped to assist them accordingly. Please call your local facility for more information.
It is important that, as a parent, you are not creating a larger issue pressuring them to participate or overdoing your responses to their desires not to participate. Try hard not to take it personally.
The entire session must be paid in full at the time of registration. However, since we offer open enrollment, we do prorate class fees.
