Class Structure

Since young children learn differently, Jelly Bean classes do not focus exclusively on sports skill-building.  They do not have to because beginner athletes have different needs.

Our World-Class Instructional Formula

Within our 45-minute high-energy classes, we are continually working to unlock children’s focus.

We have identified a 10-minute window when learning is at its peak, and children are most ready to receive and retain sports instruction.

SIX key areas of development are important when preparing a beginner athlete:

  1. Listening
  2. Communication
  3. Critical Thinking
  4. Motor Skills
  5. Sports Skills
  6. Building a Passion for the Game

In order to meet all SIX key developmental areas, we have divided the instruction of our Jelly Bean classes into FOUR phases:

  1. Show & Tell*
  2. Stretching & Motor Skills
  3. Drills
  4. Instruction**
    (includes relative game play)

*The 3 Most Important Minutes® happens at the beginning of class.  This is a special time when children share general thoughts and become comfortable, coaches listen and synergy begins.

**Peak 10-Minute Learning Window opens when children’s confidence is at its peak, their attention and focus has been unlocked, and children have begun owning the instructional process because learning has been made fun.
